| - I am a fan of this Whole Foods branch. The store is always clean and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. For example, today when I was in the store with my mother to pick up some pre-Thanksgiving groceries, we asked one employee a question about the pumpkins, and he not only gave us our answer, but also gave us a few tips about how to prepare the pumpkin and a website to go on to find some recipes. We really appreciated his help as well as his enthusiasm! Another plus about this large store is that they carry a lot more products than the smaller Chagrin Road branch. And they have a relatively large prepared-food section with a lot of variety to suit any appetite, from fried chicken loving carnivores to the health-conscious quinoa and kale crowd.
The negative about Whole Foods in general is, as everyone knows, the prices are quite high. Yes, I acknowledge the fact that organic food tends to be expensive. However, in some cases, I feel like they are blatantly hiking up the prices. For example, if you want to make a pack of trail mix from the small dispensers in the back of the produce section it will be $5.99/lb, but if you were to find the same products (banana chips, dried fruit, shredded coconut, nuts, seeds, etc) packaged up around the store, they go for much cheaper, around $2-$3 for a two pound bag. Also, a lot of their produce actually is "conventionally" grown and is still very expensive even though it's not organic. There are small signs that distinguish the conventional and organic products, but they are not very obvious unless you are looking.
That being said, this is a great supermarket that is a lot of fun to browse and discover new products!
