  • I came here with some girlfriends in December for my friend's birthday and this place was surprisingly bad. I hope they are not reflective of the rest of Toronto for afternoon tea. First off, they have a surcharge for December (I'm assuming because of the holidays) but they serve the same menu while other places offer a special menu in comparison for a better price. Their tea is nothing to write home about. They serve it with sugar and whole milk already on the table. It didn't appear that there were other options... I asked for honey and then asked again until our server finally brought it. The tier of sandwiches and desserts they served were terrible. I don't even know how they can get away it. The sandwiches were most likely made the morning of because they were all mushy and you could barely see the paper thin filling. The desserts were assorted to share and they looked like they came from a cheap buffet and tasted the same way. At the end, we each received a "complimentary" fruit cake (I think) to take home but if you really think about it, this really cost $10...it was the only difference between non-December afternoon tea and December afternoon tea.
