| - After a loooong day piling up steps and steps and more steps at CES oogling all things tech-tastic, one has to reward oneself. Happy Hour at the Chandelier proved to be just the remedy for our sore-ass peds (note there's no special 'Happy Hour' pricing). Dr. Feelgood came in the form of some smoooooth cocktails, at the capable hands of Chandelier's smiley sauce spinners. They've got Ford's Gin and Skyy Vodka on Well, which this gin-lover greatly appreciates.. The classic Vega$ meets chic minimalist modernist space, punctuated by the 3 levels of spiral staircases cradling those brontosaurus-sized chandeliers makes for intimate chatter and the perfect blend of mischief under the dim
lounge-erific lighting.
Fortified with some righteous surf and turf at Jean Georges (Aria) , our peeps were up to keep the night going, but not so much with the club scene (been there, done THAT). Deciding to keeping things close to home where we were staying at the Cosmo, we slinked on over to...yes...The Chandelier...again!
Late nite Chandelier was an even livelier, more sultry experience, sprinkled with some of the usual suspect carousing this spot enables. as we arrived, a private party was letting out on the third floor where we had originally plunked down during happy hour, so we settled into our nook on the 2nd level. I turned my back to grab drinks at the bar for my co-worker. When I turned back, she was surrounded by 4 doods gettin' reeaal friendly. Three of them peeled off to greet me with some typical 'bro' time mindless chatter by showering me, a perfect stranger, with compliments, an obvious strategy to isolate guy # 4 with my co-worker. They were a motley crue--A slick Pepper Spray maven,, a software uber-geek, and a security system manufacturer who was also an inventor and purveyor of 'digital fart machines.'....hmmmm
As i peeked back over the huddle, I could see the 4th guy, Yogi, bear-hugging (pun intended) my co-worker (yep, appropriately, like his smarter than the average bear moniker) ...pretty sneaky...not!
If you're looking for a non-club vibe with friendly staff that (almost) party WITH you, and a relatively un-pretentious, eclectic crowd of lounge lizards, you might wanna saunter on over to the Chandelier and see where the night takes you...
***I'd give this place 5 stars, but the early night bright 'coke party' lights are not consistent with the lounge vibe and decor, there's no true 'Happy Hour' pricing, and though the spot is supposedly 24/7, they were calling last call at 1:30am...i kinda felt like i was back in LA...booooooo!
DONE!
