Wow, my last visit to Goyemon made me do a double take. I wondered if I wandered into the wrong restaurant.
Although there still many items as part of the AYCE menu, items such as the kama are no longer available. The grill items and specials that were available seemed hastily thrown together because the cook was too busy chatting to other co-workers.
That brings me to the biggest change: the service! Service was terrible, especially at the sushi bar. I would order amaebi and get ebi instead. Ordering ikura resulted in masago. The sushi chefs seemed more interested in telling jokes to each other than getting orders correct. Worst of all was the waitstaff. If you sit at the sushi bar, the waitstaff doesn't seem to give a $h!t about you, instead focusing their attention on the tables. After the waitress responsible for my section left for break, I was basically on my own. Waiters and waitresses would walk by, make eye contact, and keep moving. Nearly fell asleep waiting for my check!
Poor service and less variety, make this once great AYCE sushi, just another AYCE sushi place found all over the valley.
