  • My daughter has been at KC since August, & we really like it. Pros- They have a security access system. You need a code to enter the building. Upon entering you are ALWAYS without fail greeted by whomever is at the reception desk. The school is Ivy League themed, so every classroom represents an Ivy League university (my daughter is in the Cornell class). The owner is onsite everyday and she greets parents and students by name. The teachers are very loving, involved, and very aware of the kids. My daughter is bright (i know every parent says that) but the school was willing to accommodate her at 3YO and move her to the pre-k (4-5yo) class for a more rigorous experience and since then she has excelled academically. She is signing, identifying over 10 sight words, able to sound words out phonetically, learning to add/subtract and skip count. What I love best is the effort that the school puts in to special events, their Halloween Carnival was AH-MAZING, a free carnival with trunk or treat, pony rides, haunted house, unlimited free food, games/prizes, dj/dance area. I mean, i was IMPRESSED to say the least. Another great event was the back to school night, they set up each classroom in stations (dress up room, science room, cooking, art etc) and let the kids play/explore while parents got to see the work that they had been doing all semester. The sock-hop themed prom, their recital, moms and muffins event all wonderfully produced events. The parents are wonderful as well! Always pleasant. The diversity amount the staff and families is wonderful! My daughters class is multicultural and that is very important to us. Points Of Improvement: i would really like to see more learning through play/activities. I know that one time this year they did a science experiment with soap and baking soda, my kid talked about that for days... I would love to hear about more of that in other subjects (especially math) bc they do a lot of worksheet writing. Another thing that didn't sit well with me at first, was that they watch tv/movies at the end of the day. More often than not they are educational shows (sign time with alex & leah, word world etc) i became ok with it once my daughter came home signing (ASL) in full sentences! But I will say this, the school is VERY open to feedback and implementing suggestions. So I am confident that if i proposed more hands on learning they would take it into consideration. Overall i love this place, i think that they are setting kids up for success by building a love of school and learning. Keep up the good work.
