| - I grew up in Taiwan and was very proud to see a Taiwanese deli/breakfast shop here in Vegas. It reminded me a lot of my childhood. I used to go to deli shop every morning for take out breakfast.
Yi-Mei deli shop does offer very traditional Taiwanese snacks/breakfast. I am only writing in regard of their breakfast. The service was terrible, we were asked by this waiter to sit in one of the tables while waiting for our take out, but when it became busier, the waitress came here and was very rude "you guys are ordering take out right? This table is for dine in only. You can stand there for waiting." Seriously? Never heard of that. Later on, when the order was ready, the lady was yelling in Chinese "give me your ticket." I responded that we never received any receipt. She then proceeded " no way you don't have a receipt. I give every customer a receipt." Yes, we were 100% positive we didn't not receive any receipt or any ticket per se.
It was very embarrassing, my foreign friend felt very uncomfortable and indeed it was very bad presentation for her. As a native Taiwanese, I felt very ashamed.
The food was average. The original Yi mei rice ball was delicious, it has Chinese donut and pork song in it. Very tasty and bring home feeling. Egg pancake was a-ok, very soggy and egg were burnt. Milk tea was very good, tasted like traditional Taiwanese breakfast tea, defiantly different than bubble tea from other places.
The shop needs to work on its service!
