| - Where should I start...
I read reviews and because it was close to the house, I decided to go UDP.
I met with Mike. Nice guy! I talked to him about upgrading my EGR or possibly doing a delete (I heard that on diesel forums).
NOW This is IMPORTANT... Mike explained that if I was going to smog the truck in Nevada then I shouldn't delete the EGR or it will fail smog. He did recommend installing a new oil cooler since they would be there, and I agreed. I also asked about upgrading exhaust and doing oil change/ trans service. During the initial conversation, I was told 2 days to complete work. I was good with that.
I bring my truck in Thursday morning, as scheduled. Thursday comes/ goes, Friday comes and goes. I call Friday after noon to check the status of truck. Left message. No return call.
Monday comes and I show up. Now I don't like bugging people, but I needed to know what was going on. So I went in and spoke to Mike. He was always courteous, and never showed any signs that I was a burden or irritating him when I popped in unannounced. He did answer my questions I had asked. After I was told I would be looking at another day or two.
Look I'm fine with that. I guess what I'm getting at without being to long winded is... If u tell a customer the vehicle is gonna be done at a certain time, then I think it should be done. Partially my fault for telling them that I didn't need the truck till Friday. So they waited till Friday to do the repairs.
Truck is picked up everything seems fine. Go to get the truck smogged and bam... It fails! I was told no catalytic converter! Huh... How is that so? I just had exhaust put on. He was told the truck was gonna be smogged previously. Whatever the reason, they forgot to reinstall, because they waited till last minute to do work or... I'll just have to ask on Monday when I go in.
At this point, this is what I learned. Mike is courteous and knowledgeable about diesels. UDP appeared to have plenty of work, and Maybe they are just understaffed. If you have questions, write them down, so u don't forget to ask. Get a completion date.
