I'm at a total loss. I will merely describe what happened, without editorialization, and allow the dear yelpers to come their own conclusions.
Our group of six arrived around 15h00 on a Saturday afternoon. There were four people in the place - two staff, two guests. We are not an immature group, to say the least. No drunken first-trip-over-twenty-ones here. We sat down and selected our drinks from the menu. Fifteen minutes later, I went over to the bar and asked if we might place our order. One of the two unoccupied bartenders said that she'd be over "in a minute". Fifteen more minutes elapsed, during which both bartenders were engaged in casual conversation with the two other patrons. It was becoming land of the bizarre, in that the bartenders poured not a single drink for anyone during the preceding thirty minutes. In fact, other than light chatting and converting oxygen to CO2, we were hard pressed to observe them participating in any activities. We left. No one said anything to any of our departing party.
This little cross-cultural adventure cost us $44 in cab fare (two cabs). If anyone has an explanation as to why were weren't served, please advise.
