  • Shula's Steak House! Let's do lunch......Nope, not a good idea. Having dined numerous times at Shula's in the evening, was excited to learn that they were now open for lunch. BIG MISTAKE. We arrive about 1 pm and are promptly seated. Our "waitress" brought water and took our drink order, which was promptly delivered. Looking over the menu, the Market seafood caught my wife's eye and she inquired about what was available. Today they had Salmon and Chilean Sea Bass. As Sea Bass is her favorite, that's what she ordered, pan seared with beurre blanc sauce. I ordered the steak sandwich with garlic wedge fries. We also ordered a Caesar Salad to share which our "waitress" delivered promptly. Then we became invisible. The adjacent table received their salads from their server, along with Shula's fresh out of the oven bread, which never made an appearance, probably because we were invisible. Drink glasses were refilled at her other two tables, while ours sat empty. Although the other guests were seated within 10 feet of ourselves, not one time in the 4 trips she made did our "waitress" ever look in our direction. Probably because we were still in visible. Only after she came to remove the salad plates was I able to beg for a refill of our beverages. After another 20 minutes she arrives with our lunch. One problem, sorta like our invisibility, the Chilean Sea Bass could not be found. Some how it had magically turned into Salmon. Not my wife's favorite nor what she ordered. "Waitress" wanted to know if wife wanted to keep the asparagus and potatoes while she returned the Salmon to the kitchen. No thank you. As our "waitress" hurried off to the kitchen for some more magic, wife decided she didn't want to wait another 1/2 hour to eat, while watching me eat my sandwich. We ended up sharing my sandwich. "Waitress" offered us a piece of chocolate cake as compensation, but declined due to the fact my wife is diabetic. Manager comped the salad. Steak sandwich and two drinks cost me $25. plus a $5 tip. Not a happy experience all around. I guess we'll stay invisible at Shula's for a while, at least during the lunch hour.
