I hadn't really had Au Bon Pain much since my NYC days in the early 90s, but my wife brought some sandwiches to surprise me at work the other day, and they were darn good. We split a grilled chicken sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich between us. Both sandwiches were fresh, high-quality, and satisfying. The fresh field greens were particularly welcome, as you don't find them much outside of higher-end places. It's too bad that our market is already saturated with Paneras, as I think Au Bon Pain would make a welcome choice were they located somewhere other than downtown (or in the Cleveland Clinic building, which is convenient only if you're in their complex).
