Overall experience was positive, the car was clean and worked great. I had no issues returning it and it was a pleasant experience. My only complaint, and the reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5, is the experience I had picking the rental up. I had previously booked the car online and had already chose the style, extras and price. When I arrived in Vegas I went to the kiosk and spoke to a representative on a video call. After providing my license and card I used to book the car the lady attempted to change my rental to a larger car. Normally with other companies this is fine because if the car you book is not available they will upgrade you for free. However in this case she tried to tell me the car I had would not fit 3 medium bags and a backpack (which it did fine with plenary of room to spare). When I asked if it was more expensive she immediately said "oops that car has already been rented" which was obviously false because it was all good until I asked about price. Anyway she then continued the rental and provided me the rental agreement and tried to quickly have me accept it. However the rental agreement was almost $400 more then I agreed to when I made the purchase online. She had snuck on the extra insurance and gps system which I previously declined when I booked the rental. When I questioned her about it she apologized and said something to the effect of "well everyone usually gets it." After the 30 min ordeal with the extreme attempts to up sell my rental, I was finally finished with the price and terms I agreed to online. I don't mind a quick attempt to up sale, it is a sales technique and this is a business, but the sneakiness in trying to get me to approve the services I already declined was very off putting. Not sure if I'd use Hertz again. Other companies will allow you to pick up the car and go once you make the booking online.
