  • Check-In at this resort is a nightmare. First, you cannot park under the portico, you have to park half a block away. Then you have to stand in one line to get a room key and stand in another line to get a parking permit. The process is so complex it takes between 10 and 25 minutes to check-in, not counting time spent in line. They have one employee dedicated to asking people if they are checking in, then telling them to wait in line. They have another employee dedicated to escorting people from the first line to the second line. These two people should be put to work behind the counter actually processing the registrations. They also give you a $20 voucher, but you cannot actually use the voucher unless you go stand in a third line. During this entire process there are three or four people asking you the same nosy questions over and over again. The one exception to this chaos is a clerk named Loudy, who seems to have her head on straight and conducts business in a polite and professional manner. The room itself was very nice, with a few minor annoyances. The alarm clock cord was tied so short that the clock was pulled against the wall behind the bed post where it was hard to see. There were only enough toiletries for two days, though this resort is intended for extended stays. It takes a long time for hot water to reach the bathroom faucet. The toilet is in a separate room, away from the sink and shower, which is inconvenient. The toilet paper holder is only 12" above the floor and is so close to the toilet it gets in the way of your leg. The shower head could not be swiveled. The bed pillows were small, half-size pillows. Parking is a problem because they installed posts in the parking spaces which block people from getting out of the car. On the plus side, the room has a fireplace, good lighting, and ample seating. There is a large mirror in the bathroom and there is a balcony. This resort is within walking distance of the Linq, which is its best selling point. Maybe someday whoever is responsible for Winnick Ave will install a better sidewalk.
