I'm basically going to restate what A C said in their review, so if you want to skip mine and read theirs, be my guest.
Boulder Highway is not the touristy part of Vegas. It is the locals part of Vegas. It's the part of the city every tourist city tries to hide and deny. Boulder Highway used to be the "happening" part of Vegas.... way back in the day. The original "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign is still there.
Siena Suites is located on Boulder near Russell. If you go one more mile south you are technically in Henderson (although a lot of people in Henderson don't claim it). The more north you go, the seedier the place gets. When the highway is riddled with Siegel Suites and similar housing, I could see how people who never venture to this "awful side of town" could mistake Siena Suites as one of them.
Siena Suites markets itself as an extended stay hotel. There are 14 buildings and the ones on the north side of the property are where a lot of the residents live. If you're wanting the strip experience but you want a kitchen so you don't have to pay strip food prices, this place is not for you. This place is for the people like myself who relocated from out of state and are saving to find permanent housing. It is 300 dollars a week for the lowest level one bedroom unit. We do not have problems with drug dealers, hookers, or fugitives. I've seen 2 dead cockroaches in my three months here but I saw one in the strip hotel when I was there in February prior to moving.
The staff has been nothing but nice and helpful and working to fix any problems we may have. You have to think of this place more as an apartment complex than a hotel. This place is for residents and people doing temporary business in Vegas.
And for the love of God pick up after your dogs!
