My favourite grocery store.
I would travel a few extra kilometres if I know there's a Longos around.
Unlike other grocery stores, it's done a great job not going all `supermart`on everyone and adding a clothing section. They specialise in quality food. So, prices are usually a tad steep.
This location is the one closest to home so every Tuesday, I grab a cart and hustle through the aisles.
Longo`s is my first choice of grocery shopping. They have organic produce fresh on Tuesdays. This location`s deli meat section has beef salami - which apparently most grocers don't carry. What the antiseptic firewall.
Also, the rewards program is sweet. They have specials all the time with an extra 500points. And much like Shoppers , you can accumulate tour points to redeem a good chunk off of your bill.
I find that Longo`s upholds it's reputation by keeping their staff very informed of where everything is and keeping the store very tidy. I am always repulsed when I go to No Frills. I feel like they just dump the produce in the sections and let the customers fend for themselves. Personally, if I plan on eating it, I prefer knowing it's clean. Just sayin.
Fun fact: Don't bother doing your groceries on Sunday`here. Most of the products are gone and since they close early, you won't get anything fresh. The new shipment comes in Monday morning. Best to wait and do your shopping on Monday evening or Tuesday.
Saturday afternoons is crazy busy here so unless you like waiting in line, avoid it at all cost. I don't even want to get started on the parking lot madness here.
