  • I LOVE Travelzoo. Back in December 2009, there was this air+hotel promotion for Las Vegas. My boyfriend and I decided to come here during Spring Break, to celebrate my birthday. Flight & Hotel ~ $260+ per person for 4 nights and 3 days [with $75 resort credit - we later used this to eat at the Wynn Buffet]. This was an offer too good to refuse [seriously!]. We checked in on a Tuesday, for some reason - checking in took awhile [probably because there were some problematic customer]. The receptionist was nice and asked us how many room keys we need, we asked for 2...turns out they automatically PRINT YOUR NAME ON THE ROOM KEY (which also works as your player's card). SO AWESOME. We weren't able to immediately check in because the rooms were not ready...until 1 hour later (when they courteously called us to let us know our room was ready). We finally checked in our room, IT WAS SO SPACIOUS and NICE. The layout of the bathrooms are very similar to the ones at the Venetian/Palazzo [probably because they were designed by the same people]. The hall way was lined with mirrors on one side and a large closet on the other (with ironing board, extra pillow, blankets). The wall of the bedroom portion was also lined with mirrors on one side and a cabinet w/ refrigerator and snack box (great variety - even though we didn't use it)! The living room area is partitioned by a wall and a television (that swivels, so when you're in bed you can have it face you or when you're in the living room, you can still enjoy the tv by turning it the other way). Oh, also really cool was that when you turned on the tv, the main menu would greet the guest by saying, "Welcome Mr/Mrs. Last Name" and given a variety of options to choose from. The telephone was similar because it greeted the guest and gave a list of options. I decided to call concirege and was greeted in a similar manner, "Welcome (Last Name) Party, how can I assist you?" WOW - tailored to the finest detail, talk about CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is also this master remote control by the bed that turned on&off all our lights and opened/closed all our curtains [our bellhop taught us how to use it and it was came in really handy]. We had an awesome view of the strip, the pool, and XS. The only negative opinion I had about Encore was that it was far from everything else - we either needed to 1)walk through Wynn to get to our destination/the strip or 2)take a taxi everywhere...THIS WAS A LOT OF WALKING [even with comfy shoes] cuz Encore is basically the last hotel on the main strip (not including Trump or Circus Circus), it was pretty darn far... *What would have topped off the awesome experience would be to have our bags dropped off in our rooms before checking in (especially if they're not ready). To ensure that the bellhop who helped us got tipped, he could leave his business card or something.
