Oasis Palms is very appealing on the outside. The rent appears relatively low the facility looks nice. However, this is all window dressing. I've lived here for eight months and have had one bad experience after the next with maintenance. It all culminated in a water hose spontaneously rupturing and flooding my kitchen. I was told by staff that this "stuff just happens" and "we wouldn't have been able to reimburse you for damages."
Financially, Oasis Palms is deceiving. You are hit with a mandatory cable TV fee of 42 dollars whether you want TV or not. Then your utilities are not included a W/S/G average of 50 per month. This is outrageously high. In addition my electric bill is larger by 40 percent for a one bedroom than when I lived in a two bedroom in another location. Their heaters and air conditioners are inefficient and I routinely see electric bills top 125 dollars in the summer.
They say that their maintenance staff will address any problems within 24 hours, which, out of the eight problems I've had, occurred less than 50 percent of the time. My kitchen light has been out/inoperable/flickering for over two weeks. I've already spoke with the maintenance tech TWICE about this issue and he indicated "maybe I'll have to replace it." Yes...yes you will.
To cap it all off, I asked for a discount on my two weeks of rent rent to compensate me for the frustration of living here (and the fact that I'll be moved out before those two weeks kicks in). They said "sorry, we can't do anything, you've signed a lease." I responded "are you not responsible for providing a safe and dependable apartment?" to which I received no response.
Avoid living here for any reason.
