| - From the entrance of I-Migo, I can see at least 5 other tea shops, most of which are Asian franchises opening their first Toronto locations. I-Migo is yet another new one to enter the Toronto market.
They had a grand opening sale banner advertising their current BOGO milk tea promotion, so on this day, I had to choose I-Migo over its nearby competitors.
Unfortunately, the drink selection for the BOGO promotion was quite limited, and did not include their most popular drinks (they have a top 10 list to help you order, just like every other BBT place). I opted to get a drink not included in their promotion, the tiramasu milk tea. It seemed really intriguing and it was #3 on their top 10 list.
Waiting times were pretty standard for a tea shop. Upon first sip, the drink simply tasted like chocolate flavoured milk tea. It turns out that the only part of the drink that tastes like tiramasu is the whipped portion on the top. While this part was very good, I figured it out too late to be able to mix the two together. Oh well.
Another item that intrigued me was the potted milk tea. It looked ... like... a pot, with soil, and a plant growing out of it. Weird. It was their #1 drink though, so I had to about it. Turns out that the "soil" was made up of bits of Oreo, and the "plant" was a mint leaf. Still weird. Whatever. I didn't end up trying it, but I kinda wish I did.
I-Migo actually had quite a few drink series that differed from the typical milk teas. Quite an interesting place. It's nowhere near me so I doubt I'll ever get to try everything I wanted to try, but I hope this encourages someone else to.
Warning: Cash only.
TL;DR: Stir your drink!
