  • I am super picky about getting my nails done since I'm OCD, and being that I have a personal nail varnish inventory that would rival any salon's, I prefer to do my own. It is however, great to know that there are places like Nailsense, that are super clean, wonderfully polite and proper efficient. The salon itself looks almost clinical, with a sterile white tiled interior, but I'll tell you something, I did not see one speck of dust there and absolutely no noxious smells at all which instantly put my OCD meter in relax mode. My manicurist Kim was super polite and got down to business getting my nails "did". The cuticle work was pristine! I'm usually terribly flinchy when I'm getting the perimeter cuticle snipped and being that my cuticle pain threshold is very low, I will usually watch like a hawk during this process, but Kim's touch was so fast and painless, that I was completely unaware while I breezed along in conversation with the hostess of the Yelp Nailsense event, the lovely Roma. I would like to comment about people who complain about the lack of small talk between themselves and the estheticians, really is that necessary? I guess I'm not bothered by silence during beauty procedures. These people are professionals, and especially being Asians, we have a tendancy to be focused on doing good work instead of say, talking about which private doggie school is better for training your teacup poodle? Besides isn't small talk what your friends or therapists are for? My one caveat was that the manicurist didn't understand my request for oval vs squaoval shaped nails (imo oval shaped nails incur the least amount of chipping and look less like stripper nails) but I was so impressed with the cuticle work and massage that I let it fly. Okay I have two caveats but it's no fault of Nailsense and more of a personal quirk. Why?, why, oh why are there always chick flicks playing at nail joints? I'm waiting for the day I can watch Nba playoffs or maybe Lock, Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels instead of this obnoxious fluff (that day we watched "What Happens in Vegas") yuck!! I must say, I was shocked at how amazing the pricing is at Nailsense, considering this is Lawrence $$$ Park, a regular manicure will cost $15!!! That's like Scarborough pricing, but without the ghettoness and attitude!!! Nailsense, you've passed my white gloved OCD test and your pricing within reach and great service have won my approval. No this isn't nonsense, it's Nailsense dammit, and I like it!
