  • Came here the other night with my guy after going out on a long planned date night to the hornets spurs game. Originally after the game we had planned on going to our old faithful Thomas street tavern, but we were to tired to continue drinking and just wanted food and bed. Most things were closing up that I suggested along the way until we came upon Rock Bottom. I had never been there and neither had he so we were excited to try something new. To be honest the whole experience started out wrong so I probably should have gone with my instincts and left right away. We sat ourselves in the bar area we could tell that was the only section open and well no one had come to seat us so sat we did. the server whos name ill keep out of this just because I believe people have bad days and sometimes you cant hide it even at work it happens to the best of us. however she was extremely short and the general impression we received was that she would rather not only be doing anything but serving us but that she genuinely didn't like us for whatever reason. She started by asking if we had been there before we said no she went over the fact that they were a brewery and what would we like to drink. We sampled one of their house beers that was on special that night. I said it was ok and that I would rather have a mixed drink. My guy asked if they had OMB copper on tap, she retorted "no were a brewery we don't have other peoples beer here!" ..... uh ok well then why is miller lite and Newcastle on tap right behind you I ask.. she said well we have a few I guess.... ok...... we then went over the menu and my guy ordered a ribeye well done (much to my dismay and whining about why he was ruining a perfectly good steak... I'm working on him) I ordered the salmon. About 5 minutes later our server returns to inform me that they had not necessarily run out of salmon but that at that point in the night they had already put it away (they didn't close for another hour or more) and that she would just get me a menu.. so I ordered a salad that sounded really good it was a smoky tomato and kale salad that I added shrimp to. when the food came out the steak was med rare (me happy my guy not so much) and my salad was a little bowl of lettuce kale and pico de gallo with some sort or spicy aioli for dressing that was really just mostly mayo. yuck. I was starving so at this point I just made do. my guy asked the server once she came back to please put the steak back on the grill for a little longer since it was not well done. she just grabbed the plate and walked off then brought back his broccoli to eat without his steak so that "he had something to eat while he waited" she came back about 1 min and a half later with a steak that looked like had been gotten out of the dumpster, I mean it wasn't it was his but it had been microwaved into next year. This is not hard to tell folks and for my guy it was just an insult he cooks for a living and I served for 11 years its pretty much a huge screw you mr customer I could care less about your experience here with us. He asked for more sauce since they microwaved it she brought it didn't say anything didn't ask how it turned out then once we asked for the check before she brought it she asked how everything was I said OK to be nice but try to get the point across she looked down at the plate she picked up rolled her eyes and walked off without another word. A few minutes later brought the check for 50 bucks on food I would have been so much better off not eating. I know this was a long review but to end all I can say is when walking uptown and thinking about places to eat for dinner, pass this place up and try one of the other wonderful places uptown like ruths chris or capital grill. I really wish I had just gone with Thomas street and next time given limited options well just be ordering pizza or hitting a drive through or just not eating. Everything about this place turned me off which is a shame I hate unhappy reviews.
