I am still on the quest for a new nail salon after moving to a new state. This place was in the same strip mall as the eyebrow threading place. The inside of this salon is a tacky joke. It's a jumbled mess of themed decorations. It is primarily Hawaiian (hanging grass and tiki) but they also have biker gang and Irish pub signs on the walls.
Walked in and was sat right away with a sweet older gentleman with white hair. I think his name was Freddy but I am not 100%. I wanted gel with French tip and he said he could do it. He was extremely gentle on my nails. Some of you may like it but I sure didn't. I knew he wasn't going to get my cuticles and nails as clean as needed. He had a hard time getting the white line to completely cover the tip of my nails. He had to start over a few times and I had to ask him to cover the wee tip with white as my nail was showing through. I got the impression that he didn't do French tip too often.
warning signs: the place was deserted except for two regulars who had appointments. One regular uses the restroom then told the nail tech that their bathroom trash was overflowing. The tech ignored the comment and told the customer to sit back down and not worry about it. Um, gross?
Ultimately I am not thrilled with my nails. It's been a few days and they still haven't lifted to peeled but when i left the salon (see photos) the gentleman did my clean the excess white gel from my fingers. I can honestly tell he tried his very best and he was super sweet. The 2 stars are for his kindness.
I take butts in seats as a good sign for quality of work and service and I wish I had gone somewhere else. I paid $35 for nails that are Just okay. Sorru, but i won't be back. Also, I HATE the new system I see where they ask you for tip out loud and then the POS system asks you to put an amount. Very awkward and uncomfortable.
