| - As a patient in the ER, I'd give this place 2 stars - the staff were honestly a bunch of dicks for the most part, but I guess working at the default hospital for the Las Vegas strip can do that to you.
However, my friend's grandma has been there for 3 weeks due to a stroke and so far as a visitor, I really love all the staff I've encountered so far. She's been in the general area, and now she's in the rehab wing. The nurses and CNAs in both departments were really sweet, cheerful and surprisingly really funny.
Grandma isn't mean, but she's definitely a more difficult patient. They're extremely patient and friendly with her, and you can tell they're genuine, not just putting on a show for the family. We'd for sure hear about it if they were treating her badly because like most old people, she just LOVES to complain.
The hospital is pretty old, boring, sterile - but it's a hospital so what do you expect. They have free wifi, kind of small but at least not old tube tvs, and they seem to have a fair amount of channels.
Visiting hours are over at 8pm, cafeteria closes at 630 (haven't tried it yet), there's a pretty reasonable small gift shop in the lobby that sells those little glass swan flower arrangements everyone had for their weddings in the 80s. Haven't seen one of those since I was a kid...
This wouldn't be my first choice of hospitals, but good to know that their staff will keep your spirits up. Seems silly to say that I like it because the staff is nice, but that can make all the difference for someone there long term.
