  • I would be lying to myself and the whole community if I told you that I disliked anything about the Ren Fair. The environment that they create is just... gah, it's so much fun. One of my favorite things to do is to see the shows here. A few of my favorites are the acrobatics show (with Small, Medium, and Large, all on stilts!) and London Broil (a 3 man juggling act based out of Maryland). The last London Broil show of the day is a free-form show where they take audience suggestions, so make sure to check it out! Always unpredictable. The jousting shows are always pretty incredible too. It always amazes me that there are people out there who do this for a living. I think that each weekend is themed, but for Halloween weekend, they paint the horses like skeletons. It's cool, trust me. Aside from the shows and the costumes, there are so many cool crafts and trinkets to buy. This year, we left with some pottery, some loose leaf tea, and ate a soft pretzel being carried on something that resembled a tree.... very medieval. Tip: All alcohol is cash only.
