Hoppin is a really cool concept with the ability to pour your own beer. I love the techiness of the wristbands which makes paying for your beer super convenient. I really liked the clean modern decor with the turf walls and wood everywhere. We attended on music bingo night and there was a great crowd but not over crowded.
The main problem I find with Hoppin is their price. It's a great concept if you want to do a ton of 2 oz pours of different beers, but they give you actual pint glasses and some of their beers run $1.00 per oz. Meaning to fill your normal serving of beer it would be about $16.00 for A PINT OF BEER. Call me crazy but that's not worth it to me. I would rather go to a brewery for a $5 or $6 craft beer.
I also think the beer screens above the tap are lacking in information. I would love to see more description like "ale, sour, wheat". I poured a beer (.90 an ounce) and filled about half the glass to then find out it was a sour, I didn't even really like and had just spent about $8 on it.
I'm not completely knocking the concept but there's definitely some things that still need to be worked out. I would probably give it another try in a couple months but if it's the same, I'll stick to my local breweries since Charlotte is plentiful of them.
