  • The Monroe Kmart has been a Monroe staple since before I can remember. It was there before they put in the fancy Super Walmart, and it outlasted even the movie theater across the street. Even when there weren't any other Kmarts in the Charlotte area, there was still the Monroe Kmart, right next to Food Lion. The store isn't all that clean or bright, but you can always find some good clearance items, which is what I normally do at Kmart. Just peruse for the good clearance sections. The employees are hit and miss. Normally nice, but sometimes just look like they want to go home.
