It is quite difficult to write a review of a church that I am not a member of or visit often. This review is strictly based on their Lenten fish fry. I am a fish fry fanatic. Fish fries in churches, fish fries in bars, and fish fries the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, fish fries are the best way to reuse all that peanut oil left in the turkey fryer.
I was part of a larger group, only one of us a member of Holy Trinity Church, participating in the Friday fish fry We arrived at 5pm and thank God we did. The gymnasium where the event takes place was filling up. None the less, we were able to spot a table where we all could sit and eat together verses separating. Everyone was pretty impressed with the food. For 10$ Holy Trinity sent out a plate of fried perch (about 3 pieces), french fries, cole slaw and three perogies. Everyone in my group was raving about the perogoies. I thought they were delicious but, not as good as the perogies you find at the Ukranian church basements in Parma. All in all I definitelty recommend Holy Trinity's fish fry if you are on the far west side. The food is cheap and tasty and the proceeds go to a good cause. I'm knocking off a star because I'm used to Catholic churches serving cheap red wine out of a cooler or a keg of miller lite at events. Holy Trinity offered no alcohol:( No worries, we were in and out in an hour.
