Wow, now this is what you call a steak dinner. There were 6 of us and we all had the $125/each Kobe Steak Chef's Tasting Menu. Imagine your table covered with 6 big kobe steaks, each of which was a different kind of kobe steak. I can't remember all the types but the flank steak was excellent and our unanimous fave, ribeye was very good, sirloin was decent. Overall all the steaks were very good - perhaps I'm not a steak expert but I honestly could not tell the difference kobe beef and regular steak. Not sure if it's just my unsophisticated steak palate or whether the kobe steak here was not that great.
Everything (including the steaks) came family steak so we eat could try everything:
Appetizers:
- Steak tartar
- Huge scallops
- Caesar salad
- Ahi tuna
Sides:
- Asparagus
- Whipped mash potatoes
- Vegetables
- Mushrooms
Dessert assortment - one of the best parts of the meal!
- banana cheesecake
- bread pudding
- various ice creams (pineapple, coconut, etc)
Wine menu - extensive and the red wine recommended to us was smooth and delicious
Service was very professional, courteous, and helpful as it should at such a fancy place.
Bottom line: This steak place doesn't mess around. All the steaks tasted great but I'm not giving a 5 since I have had better (e.g. Smith and Wollensky's). If you can, the chef's tasting menu is the way to go!
