I took my girlfriend here for a dinner date. It certainly is up-tempo and seems to be a trendy spot for those in their 20s and 30s, but on the other hand, it's not a loud restaurant where you can't hear your tablemate.
Service was somewhat sparse; our waitress only came around once in a while to refill our drinks, and it took a while for her to take our orders. This was on a busy Friday night, but I still think if a couple more people were on the wait staff they'd be able to provide faster service.
However, you'll quickly forget about the service once you try the food. We had the Yaki Ebi (basically Teriyaki Shrimp on skewers) for an appetizer. Not much food for the $7, but delicious. I ordered the Sushi/Sashimi Combo ($25, but a LOT of food) and she had the Crazy Roll ($8.25) and Scallop Roll ($6.5). You could tell how fresh everything was just by tasting it, and the way they present it also adds to the experience. Her Crazy Roll was served in a tall glass over a bed of lettuce. Everything was delicious. All in all, far better than anything I'd ever eaten at Sushi 101 (though pricier).
Overall: Excellent sushi-eating experience if you don't mind paying the price, and waiting for the service during peak hours.
