Disappointed by this store. It was recommended as a good source for organic produce; and while it says on their website that they have "several biological or exotic varieties", I was hoping for more organics than just four kinds of vegetables - none of which I had any use for. There was literally not one single organic apple in the store.
And everything is wrapped in plastic. So, so much plastic. Plastic wrap everywhere, it would be comical if it weren't such a sad topic. I just moved here from Vancouver where this practice simply does not exist. Is it to keep produce fresh longer? (which essentially means the customer buys "older" produce preserved to look fresh... but inevitably the vitamin content goes down the longer something sits on the shelves).
I really wanted to like this little mom-and-pop place, but I don't think I will be giving them any business. I wanted to stock up, but walked out with two little avocados, because thankyouverymuch, I am not eating pesticide-laden produce.
(I'm almost ashamed to admit, but damn I miss Whole Foods Market. And of course the local Vancouver farmers markets - both with an abundance of organic produce, no plastic packaging - and one can buy one carrot or a hundred, because nothing is pre-packaged)
