This restaurant is conveniently close to a number of touristy spots in Old Montreal and had received mostly good reviews on TripAdvisor. I thought I had made the right decision about where to go for dinner. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food because my party was somewhat turned away and referred to the Japanese restaurant next door. I'm not sure if it's because we're Asian or we had older kids with us. Either way, I wouldn't recommend this place for what I felt was the lack of hospitality from the staff here. We ended up at another French-Canadian restaurant (same prices) down the street and found it to be much more accommodating than Brasserie 701.
