I met a friend here for a drink around lunch time on a weekday. Tazza D'oro is located on a quaint street in Highland Park near the Pittsburgh Zoo. There is on-street parking and the cafe offers some outdoor seating by the sidewalk. By the time I arrived, my friend had already ordered for herself and suggested the special, Matcha Tea. I have seen this drink offered at several cafes and coffee shops but had not tried it, so I did. She warned me that it tastes like grass and when I tried it, she was not wrong! It wouldn't be "my cup of tea", but it was okay. I thought the prices for the drinks were quite high, however, they may be based on its location and I am not familiar with Highland Park. After our long stay at the cafe, I could not spot an area to place our used mugs. The disposal bin was located behind the counter where the baked goods were and I felt that was not a place where guests should be going.
I would like to try this place again and order something different, maybe even purchase a baked good. It deserves another visit at a later date!
