| - It might be a personal thing, but I whenever I read a smoothie menu that's heavy on the sherbert, I think they're cheating. Everything tastes good with sherbert!
Melons is a sherbert joint. All of their smoothies are made with either sherbert or with low-fat vanilla yogurt. Maybe growing up with Smoothie King twisted my appreciation of the smoothie, but I prefer mine with neither of these additives. I guess I just want fruit, juice, powdery substances and ice?
I evaluate a smoothie based on its tartness, so the Tangy Teaser was the logical choice. However, I requested that it be made without yogurt or sherbert. The result was, therefore, not as Melons had intended, but I think lemonade with fresh fruit and ice should still be pretty tangy. The smoothie was not tangy, but the taste grew on me. It was definitely AOK. The menu includes paninis and crepes, some in the breakfast variety. There was also a counter of sweets, and free WiFi too.
The guy who assisted me in my anti-sherbert quest was very nice, especially considering my demands. Tangy without sherbert is a pretty tricky thing to pull off.
Honestly, Pomegranate Paradise at Jamba Juice is just my drug, and I am a hopelessly addicted with no substitute to be found.
