| - I had kind of high expectations for this place because the pictures on their website made it look like such a nice place and the reviews here also raised my expecatations. The location is pretty good, quite central, off the strip but still close enough to everything. Some of the surrounding lodging establishments aren't so safe or nice looking, so my hubby and I did not walk around outside at night in the area. This timeshare is decent but the popcorn ceiling shows that the remodeling was done but not as completely as it could've been.
The remodeled kitchen and bathrooms were ok except for some chipped paint one of the bathrooms in our second room (after moving) #1323. However, the living room and bedroom both had asbestos "popcorn" ceiling circa 1960s to 1970s. These should be replaced as they are a health hazard since they contain asbestos.
For the most part the room was pretty nice, we were in a one-bedroom. But on the 3rd of 5 nights there, we were awakened by super noisy people on the above floor who'd come in at around midnight or so and LITERALLY STOMPED AROUND for 2-3 hours... it was horrible. After 1 night, we thought they might be gone, but after the 2nd night, we decided we needed to move. So we asked and the front desk didn't have any 1-bedroom and somewhat reluctantly put us in a 2-bedroom. The new room was much nicer.
The breakfast was not very good. The variety was ok, but the eggs were fake and low quality. The sausages were sometimes frozen still (not completely cooked/reheated) and there was only bacon on one out of 5 days that we stayed at Desert Rose. The bread provided for toast was of low quality as well. The juice vending machine actually served punch of different flavors rather than real juice. The only things that were ok were the milk and cereal bar, the soda machine, and the coffee. There was only one kind of tea available. Overall, we were disappointed with the quality of the breakfast.
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. There was only feather pillows available, all of which were too full, making them decorative but not comfortable to sleep on. We had to request hypoallergenic pillows. It took quite a few times of asking befor the pillows actually arrived. The blankets were inadequate. The sofa looked older and somewhat worn and we were concerned about the cleanliness of the sofa and the throw pillows as they do not look like they have ever been cleaned. Other furniture were ok.
Internet connection kept dropping and at times the wifi was very slow.
