We are Vegas locals and picked this spot for a night on the town with friends. We made a reservation for 10 and were give the private room in the back. Decor is dark, mahogany, jazz music and white table cloths. Great atmosphere, you forget you are right in the center of Fremont Street. The service was excellent, with an extensive wine and cocktail list. I had the pear cocktail which was sweet, but a perfect start to the night. My friends had old fashioneds and sazeracs...lots of bourbons and ryes to choose from...
We started with a round of appetizers--the tartare and cheese plate. Both were excellent, but I have to call out the cheese/meat plate as outstanding. The truffle salami was superb and the three cheeses they selected were liked across all guests at the table. Next we ordered salads--all of which were VERY generously sized. I had the roasted beet salad and highly recommend! The beets were fresh and the goat cheese dressing was the perfect balance to the sweetness in the beets. For dinner I had the filet--cooked perfectly--and everyone at the table was pleased with their steaks. We tried several of the sides...MUST try is the au gratin potatoes (as long as you like A LOT of cheese) and the mac and cheese. Mashed potatoes were good, but didn't compare to some of the other options.
A few of us tried desserts...again...awesome. I had the croissant bread pudding (which was a HUGE serving...definitely share with several) and my friends had the strawberry ice cream.
All in all...great evening and overall dining experience. One of the few places that actually lives up to "strip prices"...Between the ten of us, we've tried several of the downtown steakhouses and this was one of our favorites! Great evening, service, we will all be back!
