Three days. Three days until I can brew my freshly roasted coffee beans. Until then, I will only be tempted by its fine aroma. What a fix it shall be when the time arrives.
Freshly roasted beans need the right amount of time to mix with its surroundings to fully mature . Lesson number 1 of the evening.
Tonight's Yelp event has certainly made me aware that there is a huge distance between someone , like myself, who simply enjoys drinking coffee, and someone who is a bonafide coffee connoisseur.
The crew at Steel Valley Roasters are fanatical at what they do. Thank goodness they are so dedicated to this craft. No doubt in my mind that they totally immerse themselves into this endeavor.
We were treated to an educational night of coffee bean sniffing, and coffee slurping . Information galore was passed along most of the night. All great information to try to absorb. Even if I do not remember it all, at least I know where to find the freshest tasting cup of coffee around.
Thank you Steel Valley Roasters for hosting this special event. You are a unique asset to the surrounding community, and to the coffee world. Thank you Rachel and Hannah for this event, and for the sweet treats to accompany our beverages.
See you in the Valley!
