| - I have always owned Chevys, I decided to go with a different model and bought a GMC. I would like to say I purchased from this dealer, but it didn't work out and a deal couldn't be made. I ended up purchasing from Earnhardt due to the fact they wouldn't ask for a vehicle to be brought over. "Oh, Earnhardt never lets us have vehicles". Well, guess what Earnhardt said..different story of coarse, according to them, they always are willing to swap vehicles. Anyway, fast forward about 4 months and I decide to stop in since I was in the neighborhood and thought I might get an oil change. We pull into the service department and wait for an attendant to greet us. We tell him we have been on a few road trips and are interested in an oil change. He seemed surprised that we did not make an appointment and the wait was going to be several hours. He looks at the readings and says we really don't need one yet and not until I reach around the 30% range for oil life. He advised us to come back, with an appointment, once we reached that point. Ok, duly noted. Fast forward a couple more months and now I'm at the 33% range for oil life. I make an appointment for which I received multiple text and email reminders for. I arrive minutes before my scheduled appointment. The attendant asked us what we are here for. (Already noted in my appointment request, but I tell her again) She then proceeds to tell me for an oil change it would be 1.5 hours wait, oh and if I want a car wash...an additional half hour. "For an oil change!" She tells me that there is 5 people in front of me. I reminded her that I had an appointment. She explained that the appointment was simply for them to "write it up" and didn't include having the services completed! My only response was to laugh at how absurd this all was. Had I known a simple oil change was going to be so tasking I would have not brought my 5 year old. In any case, we decide to wait it out and forgo the car wash. We are led to waiting area, led by our attendant. I explain that I have always had service completed at the Chevy dealership and have never waited this long. She explained that was because Chevy had a quick lube whereas they did not. She stated there will ALWAYS be this kind of a wait for oil changes. (I should have been told this months ago instead of being told that I need to make an appointment to avoid waiting long hours!) Noticing my impatience, she started she would be sure to write the ticket up in Marcos name to avoid her getting any bad reviews! Again, laughable!
We settle in a couple of he seats in the small waiting area. I would definitely recommend them expanding this area if every service is going to take hours. (And no shuttle service available on Saturday I might note) There was no complimentary beverages being offered, perhaps there was supposed to be coffee, but there were no containers there, only vending machines with snacks and beverages. After waiting a few moments, I forgot that I had left a drink in the car. My husband went back to the car to get it for me, at which time she told him there was also a recall on my car..another half hour would be needed to inspect this issue.
Once he came back and told me this, my limit for patience had been reached. I was never notified about a recall and I even checked my GMC app, no recall for my VIN. I finally broke down and had someone come get me and my daughter. It took as promised..over 2 hours for an oil change. I'm not sure I would consider using this dealership for ANYTHING in the future and even questioning whether I should have purchased a GMC.
