  • Well, I had high hopes for this salon and left extremely frustrated and disappointed. I called and made an appointment they never mentioned on the phone that I was being booked with a LEVEL one artist! I called the day of to confirm the appointment and only then was I told she was level one! I specifically asked if she was familiar with balayage coloring and was told yes. Basically, I was wanting dark base color ( my hair is already dark ) with lighter balayage through the back. She looked at my hair, I could tell she was very uneasy about this because I believe what I was asking was way over her head and she just has no experience. She said she could get the ends lighter but not as light as the picture. Ok, this is understandable my base hair is dark. She left and said she was going to go mix color and come back. She was gone for a good 10 minutes and comes back with a piece of paper. She said, "Your hair is damaged and I do not feel comfortable lightening it." Well that is BS. My hair isn't damaged. She said she could do and all over color ( not what I wanted ) or she would "try" to do what I wanted but she wanted me to sign a piece of paper. Never I have EVER had to sign a piece of paper for someone to color my hair! I told her I would go else where. The bottom line is what I was asking her to do, which wasn't complicated was WAY over her head and she did not have any experience to handle this. I left and went to other salon. I had a stylist look at my hair and she totally agreed that my hair is not damaged and she could definitely color my hair as I wanted but said that the ends would be more a Carmel color and we would work to achieve a more platinum blonde. Again, I am totally fine with this honesty and I am aware that it takes a few times to achieve a light blonde when you are working with dark hair. Kendal just wasn't confident and couldn't handle this request. Yes, she MAY be able to do ALL over color but anything with dimension or difficult she can not handle. I could also tell she was very uneasy cutting my hair. So, glad I used my better judgment and walked out!
