| - Summary: This club is so bad that I actually signed up for Yelp to warn people. There are plenty not-trashy clubbing choices out there!
When girl friends and I hit Vegas, we had to hit the clubs. As we were shopping in the hotels, a guy came up to us (10 girls - I am average or below-average looking but my girl friends definitely are categorized as WAY ABOVE average) and gave us red Prive bracelets that he claimed to guarantee FREE VIP access to Prive.
When we got there, there was no line. Instead, it was a mess - crowds rounding up at the escalator entrance. Lots of people have pink Prive bracelets. A girl waiting with her friends asked why we had different colors; I told her I have no idea, and she said hers is supposed to guarantee free access. Finally, our group got through the crowds, and showed the bouncer our bracelets but he told us (with attitude) to go to the another side of this mess. After we got to the other side - (supposed to be) VIP access, bouncers gave us attitude and denied our access. While waiting, I overheard the ladies (pretty) next to us refusing to pay the bouncers $40 a head to get in.
As the bouncer let some guys into the VIP access, one of them tried to get us into the club. My group ended up greasing the bouncer $10 a head through the guy to get in. The guy sorta felt sorry for us and said "I can't believe they pulled this kind of crap" when we told him about the red Prive bracelets. Finally we made it up to the escalator, surprise, surprise! They charged us another $20 a head and claimed that all these bracelets are fake!
When we got in, the club was EMPTY! Sad scene! Room is small. We had to buy some alcohol to see past through this sad place. The shots were so-so; I took so many shots and mixed drinks but couldn't even get buzzed.... BTW Sex on the Beach was about $15. Music was all right. There were pretty ladies, but the guys are average or worse than average (because of their nasty behavior - STICK onto pretty ladies no matter how many times being rejected).
It's fine to pay for club entrance, but it is definitely a NO NO when the club gives out bracelets which are supposed to grant free entrance. The day after the clubbing, someone in the hotel shopping approached us again about free access to club Prive; after we told her about the whole situation, she said the bracelets definitely work and gave us the manager's number. We talked to the manager, but he seemed to deny the club's wrong doing.
Advice to the club: DO NOT PULL THIS KIND OF STUNT to create a false crowd to promote the club! Think about your long-term business. Words do get out.
To readers: spread the warning.
Note: I found out that Prive had Perez Hilton & Kevin Fedaline there to promote the club. This should give you the indication of what you should expect for Prive. This probably explains why the bouncers were so ill-mannered to treat EVERY GUEST like NOTHING.
