| - I would actually rate the Aurora mattress 3 stars, but due to my experiences with the company so far I feel as though 1 star is warranted. I was (an now I am again) sleeping on an older model Tempurpedic, but have found that it gets entirely too hot. Since the new tempurepdics cost several thousand dollars I decided to look for alternatives. After doing a ton of research I decided that a hybrid would be a good option for me. I wouldn't ordinarily buy an expensive mattress online, but I felt reassured by the 120 night "risk free" trial. After about a month of sleeping on the mattress, I began suffering from back pain worse than before I got the tempurpedic. I put the tempurpedic back on my adjustable platform and contacted BB about returning the mattress. After several attempts to convince me to like that mattress, they finally agreed to approve the refund. Returning the mattress is supposedly an easy process, if you live in Arizona. If you don't, you must find a charity willing to accept donations of used (albeit very lightly and for a short period of time), deliver it to them and get a receipt for the donation. The mattress is very, very heavy. Much heavier than the tempurpedic. When in the box, it's difficult to handle, out of the box, it's a nightmare. So now I'm tasked with trying to get this mattress loaded on a trailer and drive around until I find someone willing to take it and provide me with a donation receipt. The BB customer service rep even told me that most charities have policies against accepting mattresses, but that I should be able to convince one of them to take it. Also, their promise of "free sheets and free pillows" was never fulfilled, even though it was on the order. Brooklyn Bedding may make decent quality mattresses, but their risk free trial and free sheets/pillows promotion seems to be no more than a marketing sham. I would never recommend this company and will certainly never do business with them again. I am partly at fault for buying a relatively expensive mattress sight unseen, but I have bought many $200-$400 mattresses on Amazon that are much better than the Brooklyn Aurora. I will either splurge on another Tempurpedic, or save my money and stick to Amazon. Just be warned that if you buy a mattress from BB and live outside of Arizona, you are pretty much stuck with it if you don't like it.
