I have to say that this place made me appreciate 3rd St & Greenway so much more. I stopped here twice in the last two weeks as errands took me closer to that area.
The main things that bugged were: 1) I don't know if it was the night I went or every night, but there was no parking in the few spaces in front of the gym, so I parked a little further down. This was after sundown and none of the parking lot lights were on. I was glad I had no valuable in my car as it was pitch black and in view of no one. I will not go there again for that basis alone...a perfect location for muggers and thieves to break into cars.
Second: 3rd St staff smile and greet you when you walk in. The first guy was not rude, but not very friendly as I came in. Second visit in the afternoon was a grumpier guy.
Third: I was having hunger pangs and thought I would get an energy bar from the snack bar. When I arrived a sign was up saying the person would be back in 30 minutes, who knows how long it was there. Still no one after 30 minutes.
Those items aside I had no special impressions of the equipment, etc. Just based on my two experiences and what I've read here, there's a definite mood of they want to sign you up, take your money and then you're on your own. An old 1980's model for gyms, all those that failed.
