| - As someone who has travelled a fair amount for pleasure and business, there are a few things I like in a hotel.
I like a modern feel, something that has been updated and retouched instead of just being the same over a five year time span. I like a hotel that has taken the time to upgrade the bed and bathroom areas. I enjoy a hotel that takes the time to put up some interesting pictures and a fresh coat of paint. Is it too much that a hotel should feel like a little slice of home?
Well luckily for me, the Hilton offered all of that on a recent trip to the GTO. The staff was friendly upon arrival and I was lucky enough to take the scenic elevator to my floor, so I was able to enjoy a view of downtown Toronto. Unfortunately, my room's view was facing more uptown, but I can't complain about that.
The Hilton is really in the center of it all, but of course you are going to pay more money for that. It was an enjoyable walk to the downtown amenities and restaurants, but you could still catch a cab or the subway from the Hilton.
I would definitely stay here again, but only if I was able to get a good deal online or use some reward points. Otherwise, as a budget conscious traveler, I would probably look for a more affordable choice a little further away from the main downtown. If you have company money to spend, you really can't go wrong with the hotel, its location, and the quality of the rooms.
