  • I originally scheduled an appointment to get opinions on my cystic acne, get some uncomfortable raised skin tags removed and to have an old scar that was previously cancerous checked up on. Well, instead of being told that my scar is cancer free the Dr. immediately began recommending what surgeries will make my facial scar look better. That's not what I asked for, and I would never pay for anything like that unless I was terribly disfigured - which sounded like that's what she was implying. I understand this office focuses a lot on cosmetic things, but some people want to come here for actual health concerns and aren't worried about cosmetics at the time. Not an appropriate selling point. As for my acne, she recommended three things - topical cream (which anyone with severe cystic acne KNOWS anything topical doesn't work - period), antibiotic pills and Accutane. She jumped to conclusions and assumed I immediately wanted Accutane, I had never heard of this product previously and decided I wanted to do independent research and I'm glad I did because that was a terrible suggestion for me. Though it may be fine and be the cure for others, it was not for me. I took the antibiotics and passed on the cream. Then, all the skintags I pointed out that are pinching in my clothing and get sore and irritated. Instead of talking about those ones she immediately began going on a tizz about how she doesn't like "the black ones" then went right ahead one scooped one off and sent it off to the lab, then pushed me out of the office without any real results. I did hear from the lab and that particular skin tag was 100% fine. So I get to the pharmacy to pick up the antibiotics and she had sent the cream anyway. With insurance the cream was still $100 so I obviously had the pharmacist send it back. Why would she send it even though I specifically said no?? I followed the directions and recommendations to the T. After just 3 days I began vomiting uncontrollably. I called the office right away and you don't get to talk to a person initially. You have to leave a message and have them call back, which can be a little nerve wracking in stressful situations like this. I get a call back, they blamed me for that happening to me by saying I consume too much dairy - I am allergic to dairy products, therefore I can't even if I wanted to. Their only suggestion was that I should stop taking it and that the doctor won't be in for the next 4 days (okay??). They stated that she will call me back with what to do next. Well that happened almost a month ago and I never got a call back. Prompt. Today I received the bill stating my insurance was denied because this office/doctor never filled out their pre-authorization forms. So now I have to play telephone and call this office and my insurer and explain to both about how this office did not do their paperwork. Even better. To me it seems as if the only thing this office has going for it is how clean and gaudy the building is, which unfortunately attracted me into this trap. Don't jump in the trap!!
