  • I visited BMB because I was with a large group on a Saturday night: not likely to get a room anywhere else. Obviously, there's a good reason that BMB had space on Saturday night, because this was undoubtedly one of the worst karaoke experiences I've had in a long, long time. Firstly, the pricing scheme makes no sense. We were charged per PERSON for our room. It shouldn't matter to them how many people are in the room. They have 2 mics per room, and music only plays one song at a time. They should have tiers for sizes of room (small, medium, large); they should not charge per person. They squeezed our group of 12 into a smallish room, where three people didn't even have a seat, but of course they're incentivized to force us into a small room, because they make money for every person that goes into this room. Hello, fire hazard? Secondly, the music selection is extremely poor. They have binders that are only organized by the name of the song title, and while the binders are on the larger side, only about 20-30 pages of the binder are English songs. The rest of the binder have random pages of Thai, Spanish, Russian, Viet songs, a sizable collection of Korean songs, and you can see at the top of the page that the last time these books were updated were in 2011...how do I emphasize numbers? Two thousand and ELEVEN. They haven't been updated in three years, yelpers! For the past three years, they've been hastily adding single page updates to the back of the book, so if you want even a hope of singing a song that was released in the past three years, you have to flip through and scan un-ordered pages for the past three years...and let's be honest, those pages don't include the latest hits of the month. Thirdly, the equipment is shitty and hard to navigate! The microphones kept cutting in and out, and what's the point of coming to karaoke if it's not to hear your own voice booming loudly through the speakers?? All of their equipment is in Korean, and it's very unforgiving to the users. We definitely accidentally skipped songs and entered songs we didn't mean to sing, because we couldn't figure out how to use the equipment. The only redeeming quality of this karaoke bar is that nobody wants to go to it, so you can go on a Saturday night without a reservation....but your money is probably better spent elsewhere. Will be avoiding this place at all costs.
