First impressions are everything. Perhaps we hit them at an exceptionally busy time, but there really didn't seem to be enough staff to manage the influx of customers during our check-in process.
When we pulled up, we couldn't figure out whether it was a valet-only situation or if we should self-park. I left the car off to the side since there weren't any spaces available...and went inside to check in. There were a few people working behind the desk and the line wasn't moving too quickly. Too bad for you if you chose the wrong place to stand...because someone will inadvertently jump in front of you - regardless of how long you've been standing there. Sadly, people need to be corralled.
When I finally got to a person at the front desk, it was very quick (because I used the app check-in ahead of time) - but I wasn't given any information about the property, parking...etc. I know...it's not brain surgery...but it was my first time at this hotel and I wasn't told about my concierge benefits (which I had since I'm a platinum marriott snob...but it was a weekend night...so no concierge anyway!....)...and...more importantly...parking. We figured it all out, but it was a stressful cluster after a long-ass drive from Nashville, TN.
The room was nothing exceptional...just a regular room. The bed was comfortable; an improvement from the Courtyard Marriott that we stayed at earlier in the week. We were only there for one night...so if it wasn't for the lousy check-in process, this might have been a better experience.
