  • I've been wanting to try this place out since it opened. Who doesn't like a throwback soda fountain treat shop? The kids and I decided to give it a try tonight before heading downtown to check out some other sites. It is a great location between the near west side and downtown. The menu has lots of great options. Both the kids opted for the brownie sundae which had one on the side of the cup and one beneath the ice cream which they thought was a great treat. My daughter couldn't finish hers, but my son and I powered through ours. I had the Shoreway Sundae which has coffee ice cream, hot fudge and toffee bits. What could be better than that combo?! We enjoyed it a lot. We felt the ice cream was a little less flavorful than we'd hoped for (not enough vanilla or coffee flavor for our liking) as compared to what we're used to with Malley's and the cost was higher. It was a fun experience nonetheless and I'm glad we can check it off our list.
