  • The service seems to be okay. Did not appreciate the lack of communication regarding pricing, and was quite surprised that the quoted price did not include the services I had booked, and the total cost was about $160 more than what was expected. To clarify, I booked a new patient examination with cleaning through Open Care. The receptionist quoted me the following: [Opencare Message from 16th Avenue Dental] Hello, [name]; I have next week [time, date] available. Would the work with your schedule? Please let me know, FYI, to provide utmost dental care for all our patient's oral health, we perform New Patient Exam ($135) & Full Mouth X-rays($138) as a standard procedure regardless of your dental coverage. If you have recently taken any x-rays with your previous dentist, please request to send them to you before your appointment time. Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon! 16th Avenue Dental Since my booking was for new patient examination and cleaning, it did not occur to me that they don't give you the quote for what you booked. I understand that they've provided a service and deserve to be paid, but the inability for the receptionist to accept that she had not included the pricing was the issue I'm upset about. In what world does the dentist apologize for the miscommunication while the receptionist tells me I'm wrong for not inherently knowing that she did not give me the pricing for the services I've booked? In terms of the whole experience, it was fairly standard up until I needed to speak with the receptionist scum. I probably should have known better and proactively asked if they forgot to provide me with accurate pricing, but it feels shady and disrespectful to hide the pricing of the services you've booked until it's time to pay. Aside from the poor customer service from the receptionist and the missing fluoride, the rest of the service was decent. I believe I was told that I would be getting fluoride with my cleaning but that was not the case. It was just mouthwash and then onto the x-ray. When am I supposed to get the fluoride application? The cleaning was fairly thorough even though it was generally acknowledged that there weren't real issues with my teeth. At this point, I would not recommend simply based on the inability of the receptionist to provide accurate and relevant pricing. This had been a disappointing experience, and there are lots of exceptional dental clinics within 10 minutes of driving distance.
