| - Beautiful property, but the view was obstructed by a high pressure sales pitch.
This resort is a very pretty little oasis close enough to the strip that we walked (sometimes ran) there on a daily basis (and not just to get away from the sales staff).
When we checked in there was no record of our reservation so we spent over an hour on the phone trying to get the information to the hotel again so we could check in. This was very frustrating.
When we finally checked in and got settled in the room someone from the "welcoming committee" showed up at our room to make sure we got our "free" breakfast. I told them we were already owners and a sales pitch would be wasted on us and she pushed it as a short 60 minute owner update. During our in room "welcome" the rep also gave us the wrong hours for the pool, assured us we would receive a mid week cleaning, which we were then told would not happen, and told us wrong information on shuttles this caused us to waste some of our precious relaxation time as we were there on business.
We had a two bedroom unit that was spacious and comfortable. It had clearly been updated in recent years which was great. The problem is that between the tinted windows(I get it, Vegas heat) and the dark furniture, the mood of the whole unit was sort of oppressive. I guess it was meant to match the mood of the high pressure sales environment??? Well played, Wyndham.
We ended up going to the supposed owner update on Sunday morning but it turned into a three hour hardcore push to up sell us on Wyndham points. We are co owners with my parents and told them from the start we couldn't make any decisions without all parties present. They were so pushy (even though our kids were starting to lose it) that my husband ended up having to raise his voice to get out of there when we were being pushed by three and then four Wyndham reps to buy up.
The other issue was the activity schedule there. They do have some very nice amenities, but when we went to participate in things like Karaoke and movies that were scheduled there was no one else there so they didn't even set up the activity. We ended up leaving and really disappointing our kids.
The resort eked out a three for me only because the facility really was very nice. The pools were lovely. They had ping pong, a giant chess board, a little playground, and a small movie theater (still not as large as our family home theater though). The location is also fantastic if you want to spend time on the strip.
