| - I'm comparing this B&N with the B&N in Surprise. This one in Glendale has a large open, barren area for seating, but only 3 chairs. I asked the "manager" if I could have a meeting (about 8-10) people for one hour there, but are there more chairs? And a table? She was curt and not helpful at all. She said "the chairs are for customers." I said, "We'd be customers." Because we'd all get coffee and some would purchase books. She curtly said, "We use the tables for displays." There was only one tiny table in that huge area, with a few books on it. No tables at all for customers. She said that I could bring in my own chairs. There is seating of course at Starbucks, but I needed chairs I could put together in a group. I compare this to the helpful people in Surprise B&N, who have long tables and lots of chairs in their seating area and the manager in Surprise could not be more helpful, bringing chairs, offering tables for us to sit at for meetings. Glendale's B&N needs to offer more seating for people in that large, barren area. It's cold and empty looking. Not inviting at all.
