We have just finished our 8 week beginner obedience class at Hunter Canine. We started with our newly rescued 7 month old Blue Heeler, Indigo. A sweet girl but highly excitable to say the least. We had been through training with multiple dogs prior but it had been 12 years since then and we need a bit of guidance to get US trained again to deal with a puppy.
The training classes were enjoyable, the objectives were explained in a way that helped us understand behavior. This helped us to expand on class and use it at home with different behaviors. For example: feeding time was stressful, despite trying to keep her calm she would jump and literally do flips. After two classes, I had her sit and wait with the food on the floor in front of her until I braked her from her 3 second wait.. Eventually we increased the wait time and I bet I could have her wait 5 minutes if I wanted to do so!
I highly recommend Hunter Canine group obedience training. Everyone loves a well mannered dog and with Hunter Canine and your commitment to practice the simple things they teach, you will get that and so much more!
