| - We had an excellent Old Montreal food tour with Andre Anne.
Not only was the reservation process easy (done online on an iPhone while in transit to Montreal), but all the info we needed was sent in an email to us such as where to meet, our stops, what to expect and what to wear.
We met outside of Brit n' Chips and proceeded to have a fun three hour walking tour of Old Montreal. We got a great full color brochure that gave a description of our stops, as well as recommendations of other culinary places of note in various neighborhoods throughout Montreal for the rest of our trip.
Our group was great made up of a mix of American, Canadians, and a few from lands further away.
There was seven stops along the way which included two desserts and a brewery stop. Interspersed among all the food was Andre Anne sharing the stories on a multitudes of historical and social points of interest as we walked. History and food?!! I'm so DOWN.
Andre Anne was a seasoned story teller, full of the Quebecoise joie de vivre, super friendly, professional, and kept us entertained and informed the entire time of our tour.
The entire tour took about three hours. We tasted a great variety of food and you will definitely walk away satisfied. Our tour was from 11am - 2pm so we technically had lunch while on tour. The portion sizes are not miniscule nor are they too large. You will feel like Goldilocks: everything was just right.
Kudos to this company who I guess is relatively new. You would never know it with how smooth the entire experience was. They picked some great stops and we always felt welcomed at each establishment.
This company also offers a food walking tour of the Mile End (this will be my next trip to Montreal) and a brewery tour.
I really recommend this experience. The price was well worth it. It was one of the highlights of my week in Montreal.
Remember to tip your tour guide at the end. I'm sure they get paid, but seriously, the amount of fun and information that only they can infuse into your tour is worth at least a $5-$10 per person tip.
