  • I do not know what everyone is Safeway giving a hard time about. I recently moved here from New York City, so perhaps that is why I feel that Safeway is great. The store is very clean and has very fresh fruit and veggies. Additionally, the weekly circular (which gets delivered to my house) tends to have quite good deals (including $1.99 boneless chicken breast, sometimes, which I definitely hit up!!). I have never had a problem with finding what I need and the butcher shop is great. On the East Coast, it seems impossible to find steaks that are nice and thick- good for grilling.
